The Batesville High School varsity baseball team needed an extra inning to knock off Greensburg by the score of 5-4. The game was tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the eight when Conner Drake singled to score the winning run. Brayden Maple, Alex Krekeler, and Drake at the bottom of the Bulldog's lineup combined for seven of the team's 11 hits in their victory. They scored four runs and drove in one. Trailing 4-2 in the fourth inning, the Bulldogs tied the game up in the bottom half thanks to two singles. Batesville tied the game at four on a single by Chris Lewis. Eli Loichinger started on the mound for Batesville. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Lewis threw three innings of shutout ball for the Bulldogs in relief. They allowed one hit, striking out four and walking none. Batesville collected 11 hits in the game. Drake led the team with four hits in four at-bats. Lewis went 2-for-4 at the plate as the shortstop led the team with two runs batted in. Maple collected 2 hits for the Bulldogs in four at bats.
