BHS tennis fall to EC 3-2

The Batesville High School girls varsity tennis team suffered a 3-2 loss at East Central. Batesville's two wins came in doubles play. Grace Walter and Grace Gutzwiller were 6-4 and 6-2 winners at No. 1 doubles, while Liv Maddock and Maddie Haskamp teamed up to win 6-1 and 6-4 at No. 2. At No. 1 singles, Ava Walsman suffered a three set loss to EC's Maddie Noel by the scores of 6-3, 1-6 and 4-6. Aurora Mertz was defeated in two sets at No. 2 singles as was Addie Fledderman at No. 3. The junior varsity suffered a 4-1 loss. The lone win was recorded by Ella Carpenter at No. 3 singles.
