Batesville High School

The Batesville girls varsity soccer team defeated Switzerland County by a score of 3-2. Switzerland County scored both of their goals first in the first half. Batesville late tied the score by scoring 2 goals in 4-minute span. Freshman Sydney Britton was at the half of the offensive side of the field, found her space and took a long shot that found its way into the back of the net. Shortly after, freshman Elia Wade shot from distance, but the ball hit the goals cross bar and bounced back into play, where Kenzi Lacey battled two defenders, plus the goalie and got a shot on the ball. Early into the second half, Britton fed the ball to Hailee Weisenbach, who took a touch to set herself up and then rocketed a left footed shot from outside the top of the 18-yard box, which ended up being the game's winning goal. The team, especially the entire defensive line (Nora Wiedeman, Savannah Pohlman, Emma Cheek, Cora Miller, Kenzi Lacey and Bailey Feldmann) kept Switzerland County from finding the back of the net for the last 36 minutes of the second half.
