BHS cross country at Brown County

After the short week due to Labor Day, the Bulldogs competed in the Eagle Classic in Nashville on Saturday morning. The Bulldogs competed well in the 60-plus team invitational. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Jayla Bedel, placing 44th in a time of 19:56. Ava Wade was the runner up for the Bulldogs, finishing 57th with a time of 20:16. Francesca Myers followed close behind, finishing with a time of 20:24 and placing 67th. The duo of Sydney Gilland and Caitlin Raver rounded out the scores, finishing 86th (20:51) and 92nd (20:58) respectively. Also in the Elite race for the Bulldogs was Paige Allgeier in 106th (21:31). The duo of Aubrey Weberding and Audrey Diekmann followed close behind, with finishes of 127th (22:17) and 133rd (22:35) respectively. Reillee Adams was the last finisher for the Bulldogs in the Elite race, with a time 24:49 and a finish of 150th place. In the midst of the tough competition, the Bulldogs were able to edge out conference rival Greensburg, finishing with 290 points in comparison to Greensburg’s 302 and placing 11th overall. The boys ran later in the morning in the varsity race, placing 16th in their division with a score of 371 points competing against over 40 teams. The Bulldogs were led by Junior Levi Essick, placing 16th (17:54). Close in toe were Ryan Benz in 26th (18:08), Cael Luhman in 37th (18:28), and Duncan Fish in 44th (18:40). Rounding out the top 5 was Brody Gibson in 73rd (19:29). The Bulldogs ran well as a pack, as the next 4 finishers from the Bulldogs all finished within 40 seconds of each other. At the head of that pack was Timothy Quillin in 104th (20:09), Luke Raver in 119th (20:23), Rhett Gibson in 129th (20:40), and Varshath Rajesh in 132nd (20:47). Lucas Gadberry was the last finisher for the Bulldogs in the Boy’s Varsity Race in 165th (22:27). For the girl’s JV, Addison McGuire led the way finishing 139th (25:05). Also finishing for the Bulldogs was Zoe Martin in 169th (26:06), Kayde Adams in 212th (28:34), and Aubree Spurlock in 216th (28:53). On the Boy’s side, Tripp Hertel led the way finishing 114th (21:41). Also finishing for the Bulldogs was Gage Sullivan and Ayden Meyer, placing 124th (22:05) and 126th (22:11) respectively. Nicholas Tirado placed 148th (23:53), Henry Jelinek in 163rd (26:13), and Abe Trossman finished 171st (30:23) and rounded out the Bulldogs for the day. Multiple PRs and tough competition that will prepare us well come tournament time. Running personal bests for the day were: Francesca Myers, Sydney Gilland, Aubrey Weberding, Audrey Deickmann, Addison McGuire, Ryan Benz, Brody Gibson, Duncan Fish and Timothy Quillin.
